The Theatre for Life Scholarship is a scholarship for a senior theatre or tech student who is going to college but not planning on majoring in theatre, technical theatre, film or any theatre related major or minor. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who has been actively involved in their school’s theatre program and plans to use the training they have received in their chosen career. The award will be sent directly to the student’s chosen college once they have matriculated.
Fill out the Google Form application on line.The applicant must be a Thespian member in good standing of ITS, have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be recommended by the sponsor of his/her school’s ITS troupe.
Applicant will electronically submit the application and two letters of recommendation (one from their troupe director or drama teacher and one from another teacher, administrator or counselor) as well as submitting a scanned copy of their transcript to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before March 1st.
Applicant will create a display and/or portfolio presentation that will be presented on Saturday at the Nevada Thespian State Festival for adjudication.Displays should include evidence that cites specific examples of work and other materials that would demonstrate the breadth and depth of the applicant’s participation in the life of the local troupe or other theatre activities in the community as well as how theatre has affected their life and how they plan to use their theatre training in their chosen career.The display should contain a photograph of the applicant.Applicants will be asked to present their display and interview with an adjudication team at the Nevada Thespian State Conference.The materials for the display should fit on a 6-foot by 3-foot rectangle table. The applicant may also use up to 3 feet around the table for free standing items.lsllso use up to 3 feet around his/her table area for freestanding items.
