STO Saturdays - Day 11 - Macey Shackelford

Meet returning STO Macey Shackelford!

Macey is a senior from Foothill High School, Troupe 6553! She is both a techie and actress but mostly loves to act. Before quarantine started, her favorite thing to do was swim, and when it started her favorite thing to do was to go cliff jumping and hang out with her boyfriend and best friend, and go to work at Dutch Bros. Macey's favorite tv shows are American Horror Story, New Girl, and Shameless. She is hoping to go to college in Utah to pursue musical theatre/film acting and is currently working on several acting projects. Macey is a second-year STO and has loved every second of it. She has received many amazing opportunities from it and her goal this year is to bring happiness to people's lives and to brighten their day even just a little bit. This past year has been rough on everyone and she wants everybody to know that we're all in this together!

Questions From Thespians:

What was your favorite moment during Spelling Bee?

Spelling Bee was overall such an amazing show. If I had to pick a favorite it’d probably

just be my cast. We choreographed the opening number and some blocking so well

together and Olive was such an amazing experience. I learned so much from that

character. It was so fun, dude, I miss it everyday.

What's the biggest benefit of being an STO?

I think the biggest benefit of being an STO would be the amount of opportunities

you're given. Cloe and I were actually able to go to Washington D.C. to advocate in

front of senators for theatre, which was so cool. And I get to meet so many different

people. I go to Reno for their conferences.

What’s your favorite show you’ve ever done?

Okay, so this is a tie. My favorite show that I’ve ever been in would be Noises Off and

Clue. They’re also, like, my favorite characters I’ve played would be Belinda Blair from

Noises Off and Mrs. White from Clue. I also really liked The Complete Works of William

Shakespeare.

Are you currently working on any acting projects?

I am actually. Currently, my project that I’m working on right now is a film project. I’m

starring as the lead in an indie film. It’s, like, a post apocalyptic. It’s super cool, super

cool. Very excited, and I’ve just auditioned for a couple more gigs, so, yeah!

Will you be doing theatre in college?

I am going to college for theatre. Preferably musical theatre, but I might be going for

film acting. I’m not 100% sure yet, but yes I am going to college for theatre and

communications.

What’s your favorite song from a musical?

Fav song from a musical would be “World Burn” from Mean Girls, “Seventeen” from

Heathers, and “I’m Breaking Down” from Falsettos.

What’s your favorite play?

Overall my favorite play that I haven’t been in is The Boys Next Door. I saw it a couple

years ago; it was performed at State, and it was so good. Also, um, Lend Me a Tenor.

Where are you going to college?

I’m planning on going to the University of Utah for musical theatre in the fall!

Is there any show/opportunity you regret not taking/doing in theatre?

It wasn’t really my choice, but I really wish we submitted to take Noises Off to state

because I thinking it would’ve been super amazing!!

What is your favorite state memory?

Being the hype man with JJ before every opening and closing!!

Why should others run for STO?

You’ll meet so many amazing people and it’s one of the BEST things you’ll ever

experience. It’s so so fun and you’re doing something so important and meaningful to a

bunch of people. It’s an amazing opportunity.

One tip for future seniors?

It can be super hard but try your hardest to stay on top of your work and not fall behind

so you can still have time to have fun without stressing too much!!

In the history of the NFL, few redemption arcs have been as dramatic—or as swift—as Saquon Barkley's. One year, he was the star running back the New York Giants couldn't bring themselves to pay. The next, he was hoisting the Lombardi Trophy with the hated rival Philadelphia Eagles, holding his daughter as confetti rained down, and etching his name into the record books as the most prolific single-season rusher the league has ever seen. To write about Chelsea Football Club is to trace the arc of modern football itself—a story of tradition abruptly intersecting with transformative wealth, leading to a relentless, often tumultuous, ascent to the summit of the game. Founded in 1905 in the affluent West London borough of Stamford Bridge, Chelsea long carried the air of the glamorous underachiever: a club with a famous home, a charismatic and celebrity-filled support, but a trophy cabinet that belied its stature. For decades, its identity was one of stylish flair and sporadic cup success, punctuated by the flamboyant sides of the 1960s and 70s. This all changed irrevocably on July 1, 2003, a date that marks the clearest "before and after" moment in football club…

In the storied history of Alabama Crimson Tide football, legends are born every season. But every so often, a player arrives who defies convention—someone whose talent is so immense that age becomes just a number. Ryan Williams is that player. In an era of college football defined by the transfer portal's chaos and NIL deals that would make Fortune 500 executives blush, loyalty has become the rarest of commodities. Jeremiah Smith, the Ohio State wide receiver universally regarded as the best player in college football, recently turned down a transfer offer exceeding $10 million to remain a Buckeye . It was a decision that stunned the sport—and one that cemented his legacy before he ever plays another down. Jeremiah Smith Ohio State Jersey

In the annals of American sports, no family name carries more weight than Manning. From Archie's heroic days in a New Orleans Saints uniform to Peyton's five MVP awards and two Super Bowl rings, to Eli's two Super Bowl victories over Tom Brady, the Manning dynasty has defined quarterback excellence for three generations. Now, the torch has passed to Arch Manning—the 6-foot-4, 219-pound redshirt junior at the University of Texas who carries the weight of his family's legacy while determined to write his own chapter.
