STO Saturdays - Day 3 - Maddison Wood

Meet STO Maddison Wood!

Maddie is a junior at Boulder City High School; Troupe 2978! After loving all things theatre for years, she finally got involved her freshman year at BCHS, and it was on of the best decisions she ever made. She loves to spend time with her friends and family, listen to music, read, and of course sing, dance, and act out all her favorite shows in her room. Over quarantine, she has found lots of new shows, movies, and books that she fell in love with, and she is always looking for more so if you have any recommendations let her know! However, her favorite t.v. show of all time is Glee, which she has proudly seen 8 times all the way through. Her goal as an STO this year is to make sure that everyone in the theatre community is represented and seen, and she wants to make it fun to be a part of! Maddie loves to make new friends, so if you ever have any questions or would like to chat, make sure to reach out!

Questions From Thespians:

What is your favorite musical?

This is kind of a tough decision for me because I watch a lot of musicals, but Mamma

Mia might be my favorite. Dear Evan Hansen is also a very strong runner-up!

What are you looking forward to most as an STO?

I would say making new connections and friends. I have already met a lot of people that

I wouldn't have been able to meet without being an STO, so I am very grateful for that.

What is the best thing about Nevada Thespians?

The best thing is how it's like a little family, a little community. You can almost go up to

anybody and know that they would be your friend and help you out. You won't be

judged or feel like an outsider, and I think that's really great thing to have.

What is your favorite TV show?

I do watch a lot of TV, so I've seen a lot of shows. My favorite one by far would have to

be Glee. I've seen it eight times all the way through now and I'm about to start my ninth.

It's my comfort show; I love it so much!

What was running for STO like?

Running was actually really fun, and a very eye-opening experience as well. I never

realized how much work went into being an STO until I worked side-by-side with both

the running and the current STOs and we kind of created a team. It was really nice to

see everybody working together as one little community!

Are you an actor or a technician?

I am 100% an actor. I love to sing, dance, act, and be a presence on stage. However, I

give major props to the techies out there. I could never do what you do! That's hard

work and I couldn't pull that off.

Do you have any pets?

I have two dogs. Max is 2 and Eva is 4. I also went to a White Elephant party recently

and somehow acquired a rat! So now I have a pet rat named Remy.

What is your favorite show you've been in?

The Game's Afoot, my first play my freshman year. It's by far my favorite; just a fun story

and I love the characters I got to play because they were both very eccentric women

who I loved to portray!

What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote would probably have to be from one of my idols, which is David

Bowie. He said "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be

boring".

What is your dream career?

Like I'm sure everyone does, I've gone through a lot of different career options in my

head. For the past couple of years, I've been really wanting to be a theatre teacher, so

I'm trying to pursue that. I love theatre and teaching and I want to educate kids, so why

not combine the two?

Who is your idol?

That's a great question! I'm just gonna let this speak for itself. [shows poster of David

Bowie] That is my answer.
